Mute Swan Family

On June 2nd I recorded a mute swan nest and reported that there were two eggs present. Now we see the family although there is only one cygnet so either I was mistaken or there has been a mishap.
Mutes are especially rare around here. Practically all swans here in Finland are the Whoopers whose calls can be heard from a long distance away. The mutes though, as their name suggests, are silent.
Great to see that they have one youngster up and running.
