River of Flowers

Sunday: Lavender

Very warm this morning, 20°C at 10am - sunny to begin with then turned very cloudy, kept changing all day and no rain!

Mid morning I was in the garden cutting some kale leaves to add to tonight’s curry when I heard a familiar “voice” … chirping at me from the lower branches of the pear tree, then ventured closer - The Robin is back … I’m overjoyed, so glad to see my little feathered friend but couldn’t get a photo :-((

We’ve had a few dry days so I took the opportunity to cut the stems of flowering lavender to dry as I did a few years ago - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2995064256942048140 and https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3016075252070354538

Decided to repot the 2 surviving lavender plants, giving them a good soak in rainwater first, the compost was dust dry.

We watched some of the Olympics this afternoon: mountain biking - women’s cross country, women’s canoe slalom, men’s basketball.

The 3 Crab apple saplings I ordered on eBay were delivered late afternoon, I had a lovely tree many years ago
