The End of a Beautiful Day
Alpenglow on the distant Alpine Giants and someone playing the Alphorn just for himself (and me). What an unexpected treat after a long day. Also evening light and fog rolling onto the Daubensee Lake in extras.
I arrived at the Gemmi Pass at 9am then set off for a walk down to the Daubensee then very steeply up to the Rinder Sattel and a little higher to reach 3,000m. What a terrible footpath, it is clearly not often used and disappears into zones of broken rocks too often. Extra from my high point looking down to the Daubensee Lake where I started the uphill.
Back at the Gemmi I joined four other photographers, two of whom are brothers, only 9 and 12 years old, who are passionate about the bearded vultures and who come here regularly with their father. No vulture show this afternoon.
Another hour’s photography after dinner so now I am exhausted, lying in bed to upload!
