After a couple of days of swimble-camp it was already difficult to keep him combed. After the morning session I got a text saying that he'd not been able to get his bobble out at lunchtime and that he'd tried and failed to cut it out. I offered to scoot over and sort it, but it was unsalvageable: he'd cut through some bits of hair as well as the bobble and had succeeded in creating a huge knotted mass, so all I could do was add another couple of bobbles to stabilise it for the afternoon. Perhaps with a bath and a lot of patience he could have teased the knots out when he got home, but as he'd finally agreed that maybe it would be better to trim it a bit (albeit a few days after the most recent best time to do so) I chopped it where there'd still be enough to tie back.
