Second Heart Quilt
I thought this was finished last week, but as I was folding it up to put in the bag to deliver tomorrow I realized that there was a small problem that needed fixing. While I had it out of the bag I decided to photograph it and make it today's entry. There was a request for a Winnie-the-Pooh theme which I forgot about, so I was pleased to find the delightful Winnie-the-Pooh toile fabric for the back.
We've spent a quiet day watching Olympics, eating leftovers and enjoying the cooler weather. Jim and Dana came up in the morning and we sat out on the deck, watching the birds and chatting. Jim and Peter came back yesterday from visiting Jim's mother in Indiana and did heroic service overseeing the cooking of the ribs despite feeling like they had been awake for two days. Matt left this afternoon to go to Berkeley where he was meeting up with his old high school buddies to catch up and drive by the old house on Magnolia street. It was wonderful having him here and we'll miss everybody.
In response to questions about cornhole, I've put a picture in extras to give a vague idea of the set-up. There are two slanted boards with a single hole in each. The game is very simple but the rules seem very complicated. the two boards are set up facing each other a regulation 27 feet apart. Two people play at a time trying to get their beanbags through the hole in the opposite board. Score is kept, and seems to be the most complicated part of the game. The fun part drinking wine and watching...
Now the chairs we dragged from all over are all back in place, the dishes are washed and put away, and the food (still lots of it) is stored away in the fridge, but not for long because we’re going to get it all out again and eat it for dinner!
Back to reality tomorrow....
