Corn Flower
Not cornflour, but the flower of the sweetcorn I’m growing in the garden. No idea if it will be a success, but thought it was worth trying.
We had a really lovely walk at Ruby Bay and along the beach at Elie this morning. I sat on our favourite driftwood tree trunk while Geordie dug holes. I listened to the eerie sound of the seals on the rocks and the screech of the arctic tern. I chatted to a young family, then a man with three dogs. I had to ask him not to let his dogs run up to Geordie because he gets frightened with one strange dog right up in his personal space, never mind three. The man asked why so I explained about his ongoing trauma and fear from being attacked. He was very understanding, which made a pleasant change. As people, we don’t go running up to strangers and get right into their personal space. It amazes me how many people think it’s ok to let their dogs behave like that. Geordie wears a sleeve on his lead explaining that he’s nervous and needs personal space. I’m happy to say, probably 80% of people respect that and are fine about controlling their dogs, but then there’s the others who think it’s their dog’s right to behave as it likes off the lead. Walks can be a challenge at times. We seek out the quieter places.
