Sunset on the past
At the end of my garden there is the ruins of a medieval castle, it was built in the 1300's and is a classic castle shape for the time, not turrets and draw bridge but the main entrance is on the first floor and up wooden steps. If you look inside you can see the marks of floors above and stairs going up, but no roof and the main occupants are bats!
The setting sun was shining through the trees and making the colours of the stones show up so well. They have stood for a thousand years and still glow in sunlight! I always feel very grounded in sight of the ruins of the past.
