Wound up in Wexford

Persicaria

More weeding this morning - I filled another trug.

Technically, this persicaria is a weed - in as much as I didn't plant it.  It is the native persicaria - Persicaria maculosa.  Having spent money on, and planted, some perennial persicarias as ground cover in another part of the garden, it seemed perverse to remove this one.  So I left it.  However, it is an annual.  So sadly it will die off this winter, instead of providing the valuable service of more ground cover to discourage the less welcome interlopers such as dandelions, docks and nettles!

Some of this afternoon was spent on helping W to drill holes for plate racks - they're not up, as they still need to be painted.  And I spent more time getting my new phone fettled.
