Black-headed grosbeak

Posted Monday for Sunday (as well as yesterday's blip).

It was nice early so I took a ride to Madera Canyon where I nabbed this grosbeak.  I couldn't stay long because I had a few weekend tasks to finish at home.  Good thing I headed home when I did because the storm clouds rolled in with a thunderstorm, but it was more bark than bite.

More than anything, Bob wanted to be a cowpoke. Taking pity on him, a rancher decided to hire the lad and give him a chance.
"This," he said, showing him a rope, "is a lariat. We use it to catch cows."
"I see," said Bob, trying to seem knowledgeable as he examined the lariat. "And what do you use for bait?"
