Devil's Bridge...
...over the River Lune near Kirkby Lonsdale.
After breakfast, MrM and I headed for home the long way round, with a few detours along the way!
First stop was Devil's Bridge, a very picturesque spot not far from Kirkby Lonsdale. We did a very short circular walk over the bridge and through the park, before crossing back over the river on the next bridge.
From there we travelled through some fabulous countryside, before stopping to look at Dent station. Trains still run from Leeds to Appleby, and Dent is one of the stations where they stop. Maybe we'll use the train for a future adventure.
Next stop was Hardraw, where MrM booked us on to the campsite for next weekend. The campsite is next to a café, so we sat outside in the sun and enjoyed a cool drink while we were there.
Paragliders were soaring above a hill nearby (extra), but really too far away for a decent shot with the phone camera. That didn't stop me, and I caught six of the paragliders - and didn't realise until I looked at the photo on a big screen that a passing swift got in on the action!
