Last Weekend

Today was my last weekend working with the bears and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Most people I know hate working weekends and can't wait til they're over. But I am passionate about my work and the animals I work with. The quiet times over the weekends have helped me really get to know the bears on a more individual basis with their personalities and characters really shining through.

I am immensely sad that I have no more of these left to enjoy. Just two and a half weeks more here at the centre and it's going to be jam packed with handover, lab stuff and a visiting specialist surgeon in one week's time - when we will aim to anaesthetize 10 bears in 5 days. Not much time left to sit, watch and enjoy these wonderfully forgiving animals.

So I'll try and fit in as many lunch time visits as I possibly can during my time left. Hope you've all had weekends just as enjoyable as mine :)
