What a plane

The A380 first entered service on 2007, but I have never flown on one until today. Our trip to Heathrow was on the upper deck of this massive plane. With its fat face and beluga like forehead it doesn’t look elegant but it was beautiful to fly in. Much of our impression may reflect the seating layout which in Economy Plus gave us more legroom and reclining opportunity. Nevertheless I came away very impressed indeed with the plane as a whole. Probably she most unnerving part of the experience was the relentless, quiet acceleration that drove us down the LAX runway towards the beach and then into the air over the pacific before turning South, then East over Long Beach and finally NE towards London. Amazing.
