AOG - Day 4 GOLD!
What a day, it was a Gold medal for Susan Squirrel who put in a near perfect performance in the Squirrel Jumping at the Alternative Olympic Games, having got through the heats on Saturday. Her take off was immaculate: an ideal body angle of 45 degrees; perfectly balanced; head forward and down; paws reaching for the catch point; with her tail upright and ready to be used for balance if needed - textbook. In her post medal winning interview she said her win was 'nuts' and caused controversy by saying that red squirrels will never, ever win an Olympic medal again!
Another hot and sunny day. I did loads of washing and housework this morning before it got too hot. This afternoon was the normal mix of sitting outside reading and indoors watching the Olympics. Today's highlight was our gold in the men's trap shooting final - very tense to watch and an Olympic record too. I enjoyed watching Boulter and Watson win their doubles and am now watching Alcaraz and Nadal in theirs (I'd love them to win Gold).
