Seeking shade...

Like the Hibiscus flower, I was seeking shade in the garden when I did some deadheading this morning. Only managed half an hour before I had to head in to escape the heat, a humid 28 degrees in the shade. At 9.30pm it’s still a very sticky 23 degrees. 

Today’s Olympic Games viewing was interrupted this afternoon by a visit from one of Dad’s old pupils who came bearing a home made cake and stayed for a cuppa and a natter. She was in Dad’s class 66 years ago!

Disappointing news from the east; a French roadtrip planned for the end of the Summer has had to be cancelled as M’s mum is very unwell. Tomorrow’s plan for an early birthday outing across the border is also in jeopardy due to the heat and other factors.

Today’s GB medal tally: Gold in the Men’s Trap Shooting and Men’s 4x200m Freestyle Swimming Relay.
