The Golden Wedding rose
We received this yellow rose bush for our Golden wedding in January from a family member. Now it’s come into bloom. Fortunately, the deer have taken to the hills for the summer, or they would demolished it.
Suddenly our lives have changed, all because of a fall in the garden. It has brought us face to face with our troubled NHS .This morning I managed to get a phone call from our GP because I was very worried about M’s condition and what I should look out for if symptoms get worse.
The doctor rang. I explain the situation and I am about to hand the phone over to M when the doctor says:” There is no point in me talking to him. It is a wase of my time and resources. This is not an emergency. He can ring and make an appointment.”
Later out walking I meet a friend I had not seen for some time. I ask if she had ever had dealings with our local health centre.
“Yes, I rang up yesterday to make an appointment and they told me to ring back on Monday and I could get one in six weeks’ time.”
And I thought this only happened in London.
PS .Please excuse lack of comments etc. they are most appreciated and thank you all so much.
