My Old Professor

] I dedicated my Soapbox book to my education professor from 40 years ago, Dr. Richard Jensen, Dr. J. I delivered his book to him today, had a nice lunch, then read parts of it to him. In my dedication, I said I met him playing city league basketball, and I quickly learned that the only thing sharper than his elbows were his passion for teaching, his wit, and his wisdom. I also said he changed my life as a teacher, and as a person. We all have these people in our lives. Dr. J was one of those people. What a blessing that he is still with us at 86 years old. We all have people who have changed the fabric of our life. Dr. J is one for me.
