Fire!

An uncomfortably  close wildfire has been raging this afternoon. The neighbouring villages have had evacuation orders so we fear that we may be next. The fire is north of us and there is a very strong north wind..
But a huge firefighting force has been brought in (200 firefighters, 50 odd fire engines, 16 fire planes and 8 helicopters doing seawater drops, and numerous agricultural and army vehicles and volunteers)  so we are hoping it will be contained before it comes over the hill to our village.
At nightfall the fire is still burning.
