The Caledonian Canal, Inverness

Sometimes it’s difficult to believe that this is not a river, this meandering thread of water, and that we are still in an urban environment. I suppose it’s had over 200 years to bed in, which is exactly what it’s done. Thomas Telford and his pals did a good job. I love the canal more than I love the river because it’s given me so much.
