Plain Tiger Butterfly caterpillars
A very hot and busy morning at the Butterfly House. Over 250 visitors with lots of children in the 2.5 hours that we were open for. We currently have a very large number of tiny caterpillars from the Plain Tiger butterflies that emerged a few weeks ago. They are stripping the milkweed plants and I’m not sure we’ll have enough to feed them long enough. Fingers crossed.
When I volunteered for this morning I hadn’t fully investigated our medal possibilities at the Olympics and missed a Wonderful Wednesday bonanza of 2 golds, a silver and 2 bronze medals. Well done Alex Yee, and the women’s quadrupal scullers who won on the last stroke of the final - perfectly timed ))
