Our journey this far

We cycled partly the same route as before. That was funny. We decided to choose the most varied side of the Rhine. Up to Strasbourg that is the French side.

It was early when we left. The weather forecast promised that it would be even warmer than yesterday with heavy thunderstorms at the end of the day.
And it got hot. Around lunchtime we sat outside at a salon de thé in Neuf-Brisach to discuss whether we should continue cycling or pitch our tent at the campsite there. It was still very early, so we decided to continue cycling.
Neuf-Brisach is a fortified town once built by order of Louis XIV. There is nothing to do. Every now and then a tourist comes and some go to a terrace to have a drink. During lunch hours it is a plat du jour and in our case cappuccino. We tried the plats du jour last year, but usually it's too much food to cycle comfortably afterwards.

As I write this it is thundering. Oh, I hope this doesn't mean we're going to get bad weather from now on.
