Under the A7 Behind Dobies
As a birthday treat, I took myself (and the Cigshound) off on a 29 to Dobbies at Lasswade and set about a wee wander around the sites of previous Cigs encounters. Hell, it was a braw day, and the dinner reservation at Pomelo wasn't until 8pm.... plenty of time to work up an appetite, ken.
I knew there were one or two ones Under the A7 at Lasswade that were up in the gubbins of the bridge, but I'd previously missed this hitherto easy to snaffle shot - all I had to do was move the foliage out the way - et viola! (as they say in orchestral circles)
And with that, we headed off into Dalkeith County Park and managed to find our way through a gap in the wall, across a corn field, under the by pass and out into soon to be houses at Millerhill, before we wound up at the railway line at the back of QMU and had a bit of a nose about there. Nothing new, sadly.
Then to complete the walk, as we'd just missed the bus, we walked onto Newcraighall; 11 miles all in. A suitably tired dog and a suitably tanned photographer.
Pomelo deserves your attention; very very fine cuisine.
Cigs is NOT sponsered by Pomelo.
Not yet, anyway.
