An interesting day...

...which explains my slump yesterday.

Turns out I have a wee infection at the top of my surgical incision.

Seen by the orthopaedic registrar, Ben, I wanted to give him a hug.

Wound inspected.
Swab obtained. 
New 4x6cm dressing in place.
Blood test to screen for inflammatory markers.
No antibiotics needed yet.
Review on Monday. 

If I see erythema before then to go to A&E.

When seen in  the clinic on Monday if there is any pus then it will need aspirating.

This is to make sure it doesn't take hold.

Only then would I need antibiotics. 

My friend, Lynne, was my chauffeur and I treated her late lunch at Lanchester Garden Centre.

When we arrived home, these beautiful blooms were waiting for me from another friend's father.

I even got a bitty more sleep last night.
