FlyerFest

Edinburgh festival(s) prep in full swing, with the real month-long frenzy kicking off this weekend. My old meedja days opened up the uncrowded joy of preview shows, where you got a good flavour without the throngs, and I still like to blag into some occasionally. (the Cambridge Footlights show, however, once a near pinnacle of innovative and side-splitting comedy and the hottest ticket at the Fringe, was dire. Lazy, uninspired, self-indulgent and just plain unfunny. I was not alone in that opinion. Oh how the mighty have fallen.)
