Sitting Pretty
So many hummingbirds in the garden now, including at least 3 beautifully feathered adult males. Interestingly, none of them are showing any wear in their plumage - usually by this late in the season, I see missing feathers and just general wear as they get ready to molt. This fellow looks spring-fresh. No editing other than a crop.
We got our first bid on the new roof this morning. The guy who came wasn't comfortable around Jax (who was barking, which didn't help) so I loaded him (Jax, not the contractor) in my car and took him for a ride while Hubs dealt with the contractor. We have someone else coming tomorrow afternoon - happily, tomorrow is Jax's day-care date so we don't have to worry about him being overly enthusiastic.
Hubs and I have been enjoying seeing some of the Olympic highlights. Last night we watched some of the surfing, skateboarding and women's gymnastics - such amazing athletes. I especially love watching the surfers as they blast through the tube - it must be such a rush for them.
I had an appointment with my pain management doc this afternoon. The injections I had in my SI joints last year are wearing off so it's time to get it done again. I got about 8 months of relief from the first injections, which I think is very good. I'm scheduled to go in on the 13th. I feel very fortunate that the injections worked so well for me - not everyone gets relief from them. And anyone who has ever had lower back pain knows how wretched it can be.
