Cadair Idris
We are in Wales for a few days and today we went over the mountains and along the coast to Fairbourne, North Wales.
It was a fantastic day with warm temperatures and some cloud cover and a lovely gentle breeze.
My main picture shows the view across the Mawdach Estuary to the mighty Cadair Idris mountain.
I walked this a few years ago with my son J, it was deep mist and we didn't see a thing. Today was hazy due to the heat and it would have been a grand day up there. But out on the coast it was equally impressive and equally enjoyable.
My extra shows the miniature railway that runs families out from Fairbourne village along the dunes to the terminus looking out over the estuary towards Barmouth.
North Wales is a sensational place. Make no mistake it has everything and we always enjoy our visits here.
