A beautiful warm day

I attended the retirement occasion of a good friend and colleague. Alan was the man who, nine years ago, trained me for my work in the Listening Service. He became Head of Spiritual Care for NHS Tayside Region. He will be taking up a part time time ministry in a church in Dundee. Coincidentally, I preached in that church a few years again. It was a very fitting ‘send off’ including lunch in the Hospital Boardroom.

Afterwards we we visited the nearby Botanical Gardens, where I managed to get photos of some exotic plants. One of them was of this Natal Lily.

Earlier in the day we had watched the women’s and men’s Olympic Triathlon races with an unbelievable finish to the men’s race, won by Tim Yee from Britain.
