Swiss National Day
Wishing all Swiss people, wherever they are in the world, a very Happy Fête Nationale!
On August 1st, the day is celebrated with paper lantern parades, bonfires and fireworks. Many people, especially in private homes, like to hang strings of Swiss flags, like the tiny one on my plate.
Switzerland and I adopted each other when I got married in the sixties. I feel privileged to live in this beautiful country and have been very happy here. I have been through many different life experiences here, both wonderful, tragic, life-changing and even amazing. I’m just attending the school of life - and learning so much along the way!
To celebrate, I made some delicious almond and apple muffins! The recipe is a most delicious one from the Fast 800 health site. No sugar, no fat and no flour and really delicious!

P.S. 'Swiss Day' doesn't exist, but Swiss National Day does!
