The Pensioner

Light and Dark

Out to the Modern Two to see Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 1970–1990. Oh yes, we were there. Well she was, more than me, it must be said. Did you know she’d once got an article published in Spare Rib. All true. And no, it wasn’t a nail varnish review. See, that’s the sort of quip that would get you removed as a sports presenter at the Olympics. And quite right, may I quickly add. In fact I’ll delete it. But I can’t. Damn. Even deleted text can be retrieved. What do you say then? An ill considered joke. Out of character. I was going through a tough time?
Where was I? Ah yes, a lot to enjoy - I got round the whole exhibition while the SK did one room. And we even had coffee and scones afterwards. A total joy.

Horrible news from down south though, where several kids were stabbed at a dance class in Southport; three have died. A bizarre and ghastly event which seems to have kicked off rioting in several locations. Just when I was hoping that things were calming down it seems there’s a febrile atmosphere cooking up in many places, assisted by the usual bad actors of course. Not good at all.
