Birds Custard

There was no cricket today so we did a canal tour followed by a walking tour of the Jewellery Quarter in the afternoon. Part of the tour included visiting the graves of some interesting folk from the Midlands. Alfred Bird was a chemist to trade who invented egg free custard (he used cornflower) as his wife was allergic to eggs. The rest is history. There can’t be many folk who haven’t used Birds custard powder to make custard.
