A few of my favourite things

Today was just one of those absolutely dreamy days.

It started with waking in a tent, surely one of the best ways to wake. I don’t think I sleep better than when I’m in a tent. Then, after breakfast, Ali and I ran up and over the Dragon’s Back. I’d done this a couple of years ago but it was nice to do it again with a friend and in the glorious sunshine. We were suitably sweaty and filthy by the end of it so packed up the tent and made the most of Pomeroy’s ridiculously good showers - and then their ridiculously good ice-cream.

Then onto the High Peak bookstore for a top up of books (I was restrained).

Then finally to Bakewell for beer and pizza at Thornbridge before a walk into town to pick up a Bakewell Pudding for the road.

A delightful day, sure to result in a massive comedown when back at the desk tomorrow.
