Mr W & I went to a local vehicle meet. There were vehicles of all shapes, sizes and makes. We've been going for several years now but this is the first time we've seen a Ford Popular. This is the Deluxe version.
I passed my test in the basic version, a car that was only 3 years younger than me. It only had 4 gears (and 1 of those was Reverse) and the windscreen wipers stopped when you went uphill. The only time it went above 45 mph was when I was being towed! It got to the stage when there was more weld than original metal on the subframe and our lovely garage owner eventually told me not to bring it back for an MOT test the following year.
We sold the car for £100, having previously got £220 for the registration
