Stormy weather

I've been bashing away at the computer keyboard all week writing up candidate reports. I'm over half way now but it will extend into next week. I've taken the occasional break to check in on the Olympics and today I answered an SOS phone call from Gloria at the other end of the village who had slipped on to the floor and couldn't get back up into her wheelchair under her own steam. A storm had just broken bringing torrential rain, thunder and lightning (which wasn't very, very frightening). It didn't last long but the road out of the High Street was awash and my car was getting deluged by passing cars as I waited at temporary traffic lights controlling the passage of cars through roadworks, not that there were any going on at that time.
