Otter
A cycle around Sanday. Far less windy than the day before but also pretty overcast all day, unfortunately.
Waders are beginning to arrive from the north- I saw about 45 golden plover, 50 bar-tailed godwit plus lapwings, sanderling, turnstone, dunlin, curlew etc and a nice short-eared owl and got a nice shot of a sedge warbler (extra). I got back to the ferry slip with an hour or more to spare because I have seen otters there before, and one appeared fishing just off the breakwater. Also got a brief view of a porpoise from the ferry.
