Looking down...
...on Englishcombe, from the garden centre.
Cadged a lift in the day care taxi first thing this morning to the garden centre on the southern edge of Bath, where I bought a Diamond Wishes rose to replace the one I bought for Mum and Dad’s 60th wedding anniversary six years ago (which has been neglected and is no more).
I’ve not had much luck with public transport recently. Got to the bus stop to see that I’d just missed the bus that would take me down to the city centre in time to connect to my bus home, so decided I’d be better off walking. Of course, just after starting off, the bus, which must’ve been running late, whistled past me! Anyhow, 2 miles and half an hour later, I reached my bus stop with 5mins to spare before my bus home arrived. The walk wouldn’t have been a problem, if it were not for the fact that I was carrying a blinking rose bush on my hip!
Anyhoo... Was home by 10.40am and able to enjoy the first of the athletics action, always my favourite part of the Olympics. Would love to have a go at throwing the hammer! Much fresher today and a pleasant 23 degrees. Sat in the garden with a book for half an hour (first time this year), then spent a couple of hours deadheading the roses etc.
Today’s GB medal tally: Gold in Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls, Equestrian Team Jumping, and Women’s Trampoline. Silver in Men’s Rowing Pair and Men’s 50m Freestyle Swimming. Bronze in Men’s Synchronised 3m Springboard Diving.
Thank you for all your recent kind stars and hearts.
