Culture Night

Still running late! A truly murky day and the start of the bank holiday weekend with festivals agogo, including Ahakista!  It absolutely lashed all morning at around 3pm eased off into a murky drizzle so we legged it around the circuit and finished off with a swim!  Miraculously the sun suddenly came out at around 5pm and it was a gorgeous evening. We went off for another bit of culture,  back to Skibbereen Arts Festival and a performance by John Metcalfe and ensemble called Tree. Lusciously and mesmerisingly performed by two violinists, two cellists, a bass violinist and John,  on violin with  occasional swoops onto the keyboard - visuals by Jony Easterby. Lovely. 
Skib was in a high mood as two of their rowers had just won gold in the Olympics. - this was the view in the hall a few hours earlier!!  In fact this is Paul O Donovan's third successive gold in third successive Olympics! There will be a mighty homecoming!
