Moseley Old Hall. National Trust. Staffordshire.
We took ourselves off to visit this place as we have never been before to this particular National Trust property. We are members and there are so many around the West Midlands area that are within a 40 minute drive. (Depending on the traffic of course!).
King Charles II took refuge here for two days when fleeing the Parliamentary Army after the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
The grounds are not extensive but have delightfully kept gardens and areas. There is a wild woodland which houses an amazing tree house that even grownups can access by the wooden stairs.
Guess who made it to the top!
Unfortunately I had to leave the guided tour of the house as I couldn’t stand for long in each room to listen to the guide.
I was so disappointed.
Walking round the grounds I managed by every now and again by bending as if to touch my toes, which relieved some of the pain. But it helps and that is a bonus!
Now we’re home I’m sitting in the summerhouse with my ice pack and a glass of Côtes du Rhône Rosé wine, with the sun and a breeze wafting in now and again.
You may recognise someone in the extra! ;-)
