St Wilfrid’s Procession dates back to 1108 when King Henry I granted a charter to the city to hold an annual feast each year around the 30th July. And what a celebration it was today. Packed crowds cheered on floats & tractors & bands & marchers. It was carnival time in Ripon city centre as the procession wound it’s way around the city, culminating in a service in Ripon Cathedral.
