Cuenca by Night
Decided to spend another night here, to do it justice, and love the S Julian Seminary we are staying in, so peaceful. Means more driving tomorrow, but less stress today.
Amazing place, famous for the casas colgadas, houses hanging over the limestone gorge of the Huécar River. One of them has an abstract art museum, loved what they've done with the building, not so convinced about most of the art. Close-up of the building (just above right end of bridge in this photo) in Mike's Blip.
And then, of course, you have to walk over the San Pablo bridge (illuminated in photo) to get a view of the other side. I felt like Donkey in "Shrek", and did not look down - the sides are low, and it's a looong way down!
Gratefuls:
- the privilege of spending two nights in this stunning place
- being able to come back to our air conditioned room for a shower and a nap when it got too hot
- legs that work, to get around on, and comfy walking sandals (a lot of climbing stairs today)
(Have filled in yesterday's Blip.)
