The New Church
Completed in 1656, The Niewe Kerk [Translation: New Church] was built as The Grote Kerk [Translation: Big Church] had become too small. It was originally built on a square island before the canals surrounding this island were filled in. Currently, it is a concert hall during the week and holds church meetings for Redeemer International Church on Sunday mornings.
Living Waters Church is currently on its summer break, so Little Man and I travelled to The Hague to attend Redeemer Church. I did an internship with Redeemer between September 2016 and June 2017 and was looking forward to going back with Little Man. We attended a service soon after I arrived in the Netherlands. Going back today made me realise how grateful I am for the church I'm currently going to. I'm still processing everything, but it's safe to say that I'm not planning to go back there, which is a shame.
We spent a bit of time exploring The Hague before we came home. The buses that run between Oudewater and Gouda, where we got the train to, depart once an hour. We arrived in Gouda moments after the bus had left. So we spent just under an hour in Gouda, waiting for the next bus. We've had a relaxing evening.
