Rob and Elana's wedding and time without my baby

I had such a mix of emotions this morning because I was excited to be getting all glammed up to go and share the happiness of Rob and Elana's day and spend it with friends, but on the other hand, it meant not only a day, but a whole day and night without my baby girl.

I had changed my mind back and forth so many times about even going to the wedding, as I could not face the thought of all that time without my gorgeous babba. Aunty Liza had agreed to have Eva for me at her house, and her and Lorna were so so excited. I just felt sick every time I thought of it, but I thought, no, I can do this, and I knew Eva would be absolutely fine, I trust my sister implicitly.

Mike and I packed up all her things, and took her round about 11am. She was all smiles and laughs for Liza which was such a relief, and not long after we'd left, she messaged me to say she'd downed a bottle, which was another box ticked as I'd been so worried she wouldn't take a bottle. (I'd also packed 10 portions of frozen expressed milk, my freezer drawer will need replenishing soon!)

So, she was absolutely fine. Liza said she had never seen a happier baby in her life. She'd taken her for a walk up to Sainsbury's and to our moms, taken her to Solihull to return some stuff she needed to take back. Eva had lots of sleeps, took her bottle just fine, did lots of splashing in the bath at bath time which Lorna filmed, and was in bed fast asleep by 9pm.

The wedding was just amazing. The location was idyllic, and the bride and groom looked fantastic and so happy. I was rather tipsy quite quickly after the ceremony, as I kept getting top ups of Pimms and we were outside in 30 odd degrees heat, so hence to say I had to down a few glasses of water and was soon back to feeling ok again.
The food, company, speeches, everything was lovely and the band on the evening were just fantastic, the whole dance floor was packed.

It was a bit of a mission expressing milk in the office while I was there as the door wouldn't lock and the one blind wouldn't close, and I kept thinking someone would come bursting in and find me in a rather embarrassing position, but it was fine thankfully.

We got the coach back from Malvern which dropped us off by Sainsbury's so we could walk home and not have to worry about taxis.

I crawled into bed around 2.40 am once the kittens were fed, I'd expressed more milk and had a nice refreshing shower.

I went to sleep dreaming of my baby and excited about getting her back the next day.

First ever overnight stay at 5 months of age, a success xxx
