I made it to Bridge of Allan Games just as it started to rain.  So, I joined the hundreds of others who braved the weather to watch the grand finale of the massed pipe bands. (M is housebound and likely to be for the next couple of weeks).
I don’t go along with those folk who say the bagpipes are best heard disappearing over a distant hill. Not for me. I love them. Today they did not disappoint. It was a stirring , rousing occasion.
The winner was the Royal Army of Oman Pipe Band. Click here to hear them in action as they entered the ring.
