Bee on Statice

We drove to Loughborough this afternoon to go and listen to the New Orleans Jazz Hotshots in Queens Park. Not the same band as earlier in the summer but very similar sounding. I'd never seen the park so crowded. Large numbers of people had come to listen. Sadly, no one got up to dance.  The music was well worth dancing to.

I had hoped to take more photos of the wonderful flowers but I've realised that the flowers must be enjoyed in situ, as they are. The gardeners have worked wonders with the planting which is extremely well coordinated. It just seems impossible to take a realistic photo of them. Which is why I resorted to taking photos of individual flowers being harvested by bees.
