Floating the Deschutes

We used to float the river at least one time each summer, but it’s been so hot the past few years we haven’t done it with the kids. It’s a beautiful, gentle trip but there is absolutely no shade and it’s such a popular activity in the summer it can look like a traffic jam with all the rafts, inner tubes and boats. I think I will be content to just watch from the sidelines this summer!
