Twenty Three.....

...the anniversary of this young man arriving in to the world and shell shock setting-in quickly when I tried to hand him back to the mid-wife and she refused.

A quick spin around the district with a local cyclist, who showed me some interesting side roads to follow and then home for the bus to Tweedbank Station.

We negotiated the Scotrail 'service' which involved a cancelled train and then a rail replacement bus, but eventually arrived in Embra to meet Owen. Late lunch at Paradise Palms on Lothian Street, excellent veggie scran and a free cocktail for the birthday boy, nice touch.

Then a show in the Embra Fringe. An emotional and gut wrenchingly funny 60mins on periods and near death experiences from young Shetlander Marjolein Robertson.

Then to the Bristo Square Purple Cow thingy to meet-up with some of the old Edinburgh crew and listen to Charlie's DJ set in the summer rain.

Last train home, feeling tired, happy and relieved it was running.
