Dawn's Journal

"WEEEEED!"

Somehow the day got away from me.

I read the Sunday paper, uploaded yesterday's Blip, started to sketch out a new watercolour painting using an image my sister supplied and then decided it might suit acrylics better so, belatedly, phoned my neighbour to see if he wanted to come along for the ride and headed to the nearby recently opened hobby store for some paper.  We just had enough time for a mooch around and to grab a coffee before the stores closed.  I was glad I asked him as he is not in the best of health and apparently hadn't left his house since June!

Anyway, it meant the camera was left languishing on the shelf (or rather my sofa - I'm not the tidiest of people) and only managed to grab a couple of shots of one the sunflowers I got on my trip out on Friday.  It reminded me of a childhood favourite on TV from the Watch with Mother series; Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men. These were  two little men made of flower pots who lived at the bottom of an English suburban garden with Little Weed  growing between them. While the flowerpot men spoke a gibberish language, named Oddle-Poddle, all she ever said was "WEEEEED!".
