Bilston Glen Mine

This memorial to the miners who lost their lives in Bilston Glen Colliery is at Fountain Green in Loanhead.

I tried to take a picture without me being reflected in it, but the stone is dark grey/black marble and reflective!!!!

I always tell people I have lived all my life (so far) in a mining village and it is when I see memorials such as this that it reminds me of how many families have links with 'the pit' - including my own.
