Communication

Modern means of communication can be very convenient, useful and easier to carry with you.
But,  there is a lot to be said for the older methods too. Mobile phones can be taken with you wherever you go.  I remember the days when you had to wrap your sick child to go to the phone box on the corner to ask for a GP to visit. This is one means of communication I am not sorry to see the back of.
If you are going on a long journey or a holiday, you can now take many books with you  in a single item. A book reader is useful,  But the feel of a new book arriving in the post, that you ordered at least a week ago, and the feel of crisp new paper, is satisfying.
What can be better than opening a new page in a diary and writing down the events of the day, also keeping track of important dates and forthcoming events.

I can see advantages of modern communication methods, but also like some of the older ones too.
