Round and round we go
I was dozing on the flight, so didn’t notice we’d been turned away from our first landing at Aberdeen until the pilot announced it - apparently there was one helicopter too many manoeuvering around the airfield so the tower asked us to go round again. Second attempt: wheels almost on the tarmac, then we pulled up again. It was undramatic, so I think the pilot had been planning around possibly aborting. As we circled Aberdeen, he told us that it was bit gusty on the ground and that had taken us “outside one of the parameters for our landing”. Third attempt was frankly a bit messy - he put us down late and a little hard and unevenly.
Getting off the plane, I’d hardly describe it as even breezy by Aberdeen standards. I deplaned via the rear door, but I suspect this wasn’t one of those times when pilot stands proudly at the cockpit door to see the passengers off!
