Sweet Peas

My dad used to grow these as my mum loved them and Mr C does the same for me. The scent this year is intense.

I was very achy this morning after my long (for me) walk. Ailie was the same but she had to go to town to look after her grandson.

I had a lunch date at the village Italian with Katy and 9 others. The chat was pleasant and the food only ok. But it was cheap. I ordered a mozzarella and tomato panini and it appeared on a board with chips and salad which of course fell off the board the minute I tried to cut the panini. In the end I dropped its contents onto the plate and discarded the bread. I decided to book it for #3 daughter and children when they are staying as we’ll be out all day. They have refined tastes but there should be a pasta thing they could have. The pizzas would feed 4 and were very doughy.

I have already finished Carrie Fisher’s book and this afternoon started Mapp and Lucia. Maybe I shouldn’t have picked one hilarious book after the other. I might abandon it for now and start Cuddy.

I forgot to mention yesterday, though the incident did upset me, that I nearly had a motor accident. At a tight bend a motor cyclist came round it towards me on my side of the road, leaning his bike towards me. I was already well into my side but managed to get further over. Had he tried to alter the course of his bike I’m sure he’d have fallen in front of me. Ailie agreed he was well over the white line into my side. Phew a lucky escape but I was shaken.
