A short introduction to chicken sitting

J and I will soon be taking up our responsibilities as chicken sitters (or, in J's terminology, chicken PAs), so this afternoon we went for our induction. I'm a little nervous, as I have no previous experience with chickens, but J is enthusiastic and delighted, and we have been guided through the necessary details and hope all will be well. 

It's been a busier day than expected: J and I tried to get some animation done this morning, but didn't get beyond test shots and green screen trials; perhaps tomorrow we will progress faster. We also completed the online e-consult form about J's sore ear, and were pleased and astonished to receive a phone call within fifteen minutes offering an appointment at a neighbouring surgery.  This meant an early finish to the animation, a quick lunch, then a rather long wait at the surgery. Drops were prescribed, and we were home in time for the supermarket delivery, before walking along the road to meet the chickens in their sunny garden.
